SANDY -- Markee Shulsen is one of those people who loves her car so much, she gave it a name. "His name is Tonkers," she joked.
On Thursday, March 4, Shulsen went into the Gold's Gym near 9400 South and 700 East in Sandy to work out. She left her car keys and some other items in an open locker. When she returned, the keys were gone and so was her beloved car.
"I just don't understand how somebody could be so selfish and so messed up and not even care," Shulsen said. The thief also took her wallet, which was in the car, and used a credit card to make purchases at a nearby business.
Police and Shulsen looked for the car with no success. Her parents even posted photos on Facebook. A week later, a family friend noticed a similar story on KSL.com out of Orem.

In that case, the suspect, 32-year-old Judy Quintanilla, had driven the stolen car just across the street to a mall. Sure enough, Shulsen's car had been parked, even locked, right across the street from where it was stolen.
But the similarities didn't end there. Sandy police say surveillance video showed the suspect leaving the business in a car similar to the one she was driving when she was arrested. Wednesday night, Shulsen identified a wallet found in the car as hers.
Quintanilla is currently in the Utah County Jail in connection with the Orem case.
