NEW YORK, Aug 30, 2005 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- "American Idol" castoff Frenchie Davis has been cast as President Clinton's White House secretary Betty Currie in New York's "Monica! The Musical!"

The satire about the relationship between the president and White House intern Monica Lewinsky is scheduled to premiere Sept. 21 during the New York Musical Theatre Festival, Playbill Online reports.

The cast also includes Christine DiGiallonardo as Monica, Megan Lawrence as Hillary Clinton, Duke LaFoon as Bill Clinton, Rashad Naylor as Vernon Jordan, Kristie Dale Sanders as Janet Reno, Charlie Pollock as Ken Starr and Josh Walden as George Stephanopoulos.

Although critics hailed her voice, Davis was kicked out of the Fox TV talent competition when it became publicly known that she once worked for an adult Internet site.
