HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Akolda Manyang had his fourth double-double of the season and Brandon Randolph Kenneth scored 14 points with eight assists to help Utah Valley hold on for a 75-64 win over Sam Houston State on Friday.

Manyang, a senior transfer from Oklahoma, finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks. Kenneth Ogbe added 13 points, including three of Utah Valley's season-high 11 3-pointers.

Utah Valley (9-5) didn't score until Ogbe that hit a 3 nearly 3½ minutes in sparked a 22 -3 run that made it 22-7 midway through the first half. Ogbe added another 3-pointer, the last of three by the Wolverines in just more than two minutes, and a layup that capped the spurt. Sam Houston State trailed the rest of the way.

The Bearkats trimmed their deficit to 4 and 2 points in the second half before Christopher Galbreath Jr. made a layup that made it 57-56 with about five minutes to go. Utah Valley answered with a 3-pointer each time and the last of those, by Conner Toolson, ignited an 18-8 spurt to close the game. The Wolverines hit 10-of-12 free throws in the final four minutes.

Abrian Edwards had 16 points and 10 rebounds — his first career double-double — and Galbreath added 14 and 10 for Sam Houston State (6-7). The Bearkats are 1-4 in the month of December.
