BEGINNING OF THE MADNESS — It’s March, which means teams are beginning to punch their tickets to the NCAA Tournament and the annual work-excused absence that is March Madness.

One team has already been there, but stopped time to make it back for the second-straight season, while the Utah Jazz made one serviceman’s return to the Wasatch Front extra special.

Here are some of our favorite moments from the past week.

Dunk City breaks time

Florida Gulf Coast won its second-straight Atlantic Sun tournament title Sunday with a 77-61 win over North Florida, ensuring another season of “Dunk City” going to the NCAA Tournament.

This year’s trip was special, though, because one FGCU player learned he could stop time with his play.

Watch Dunk City’s Rayjon tucker throw down so “bigly,” he literally stopped the shot clock with the throw-down.

This. Is. March.

Jazz reunite military family with unique game

We appreciate our U.S. military servicemen and women, and salute all of the families who give up their fathers, mothers, sons and daughters to serve in the armed forces.

Which is why when the Utah Jazz thought up a unique way to reunite one Utah military family last week, we couldn’t help but feel a little misty.

It started as a timeout game that looked like it was going horribly wrong — until you realized the “prize” being offered was Maj. Samuel Sanderson of the Utah Army National Guard and his two children would never give back.

Kyrie Kan Dribble

Is there anything Cleveland Cavs point guard Kyrie Irving can’t do?

After this one, we aren’t so sure.
