Utah women beat Washington to end 6-game losing streak

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Kiana Moore and Megan Huff scored 17 points apiece and Utah snapped a six-game losing streak with an 88-56 victory over Washington on Friday night.

Moore made three 3-pointers and Huff had 10 rebounds for the Utes (19-7, 8-7 Pac-12), who handed the Huskies (8-18, 1-13) their 10th straight defeat.

Andrea Torres added 14 points and Sarah Porter and Erika Bean 12 each for the Utes. Bean also had eight assists and four of Utah's 10 steals. Dru Gylten had nine assists.

Utah shot 55 percent overall and 41 percent (12 of 29) from 3-point range and outscored the Huskies 28-8 off turnovers.

Amber Melgoza scored 21 points and was the only Washington player to reach double figures.

The Huskies scored the first nine points and led until Huff's 3-pointer with three minutes remaining in the period. Utah led the rest of the way, going up by double figures for good with 5:21 remaining in the first half.
