GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida guard Brandone Francis-Ramirez has decided to transfer.

The Gators confirmed the news Wednesday after Francis-Ramirez posted on his Twitter page that "it was best for me to transfer from UF." Francis-Ramirez added that he will remain on campus this summer while taking a class and figuring out what program is the "best fit for my style."

The Dominican averaged nearly 11 minutes in 29 games as a sophomore last season, finishing with 59 points and 29 rebounds. He shot 20 percent from the field and a woeful 17 percent from 3-point range. He sat out his freshman year while working to become academically eligible.

He will have to sit out next season under NCAA transfer rules and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Francis-Ramirez is the second player to leave Florida since the end of the season, joining guard DeVon Walker.
