BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Rob Phinisee scored seven of his season-high 16 points in overtime and Trayce Jackson-Davis added a career-high 25 points to help the Indiana Hoosiers get past Nebraska 96-90. Indiana won its first Big Ten game of the season and its second straight overall. Dachon Burke Jr. had a career-high 25 points and Haanif Cheatham finished with 21 to lead Nebraska. The Cornhuskers have lost three straight and had their longest winning streak in the series snapped at three.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan wide receiver Tarik Black has entered the transfer portal. The junior has 25 catches for 323 yards and a touchdown this season. In three seasons for the Wolverines, Black has 40 receptions for 507 yards and two touchdowns. He is fourth on the team in catches this season, behind Ronnie Bell, Nico Collins and Donovan Peoples-Jones. Black began the season with four catches for 80 yards and a touchdown against Middle Tennessee, but those are still his season highs in all three categories. No. 17 Michigan faces No. 9 Alabama in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1.

NEW YORK (AP) — There has been a lot of concern from coaches and administrators when it comes to the so-called transfer epidemic in college sports. AP College Football Writer Ralph Russo says the increased movement of players has done more good than harm. Three quarterbacks are up for the Heisman Trophy this weekend: LSU's Joe Burrow, Oklahoma's Jalen Hurts and Ohio State's Justin Fields. All are transfers. Russo says they have blossomed as players at their new schools. The NCAA has made it easier for athletes in high-profile sports to switch schools. Russo says it is time to do more.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The Nebraska basketball team is missing one of its top scorers as it opens Big Ten play this weekend. Coach Fred Hoiberg says guard Jervay Green is suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. Green started the first nine games and is averaging just over 10 points and five rebounds per game. The Huskers play at Indiana on Friday night and host Purdue on Sunday.

UNDATED (AP) — A person with knowledge of the situation says Boston College is finalizing an agreement with Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley to be the Eagles' head coach. The person spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press because an agreement had not yet been reached. Hafley spent seven seasons in the NFL before joining the Buckeyes this year. The 40-year-old New Jersey native has also coached in college at Rutgers and Pittsburgh. Hafley, who coaches defensive backs, has helped turn around an Ohio State defense that struggled last year, but enters the College Football Playoff leading the nation in yards per play allowed.
