INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — No. 2 Ohio State will seek an unprecedented third consecutive outright title when it faces No. 10 Wisconsin in Saturday's Big Ten championship game. A win also would give the undefeated Buckeyes one of the four precious playoff spots. The Buckeyes have won six straight in the series and both of the previous two title games between the schools. The Badgers also lost 38-7 earlier this season in Columbus. Ohio State has an 18-game winning streak.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Franz Wagner led a balanced scoring effort for No. 4 Michigan with 18 points, and the Wolverines opened Big Ten play with a 103-91 victory over Iowa. Michigan overcame 44 points by Iowa's Luka Garza and rebounded from its 58-43 loss to top-ranked Louisville on Tuesday night. In fact, Michigan exceeded its point total from Tuesday before halftime. Garza scored 27 points in the first half, including 15 of Iowa's first 17, but it was the defensive end that prevented the Hawkeyes from winning this one. Garza scored the most points by an opposing player at Michigan's Crisler Center.

UNDATED (AP) — The Heisman Trophy chase and the playoff race have become intertwined. Since the College Football Playoff started in 2014, four of the five Heisman winners and 14 of the 17 finalists have played on teams selected to play in the semifinals. That makes conference championship weekend especially important as voters keep an eye on contenders. It has also made it especially difficult for players out of the national title hunt, like injured Alabama star Tua Tagovailoa, to work their way on to voters' ballots.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — The Indiana Hoosiers and football coach Tom Allen have agreed to a new seven-year contract. The deal is worth an average of $3.9 million per year. It comes after the Hoosiers posted their first eight-win season since 1993. They will have an opportunity to tie the school's single-season win record if they win their first bowl game since 1991. The compensation for the first three years on the contract are fully guaranteed. Allen took over a coach in December 2016 following the firing of Kevin Wilson.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue's board of trustees has approved a measure to name its football field Rohrman Field beginning next season. Purdue will keep the Ross-Ade Stadium name for the actual facility. Bob Rohrman is an Indiana-based automobile dealer owner with more than 30 dealerships throughout the Midwest.
