UNDATED (AP) — The NCAA Tournament has the top three seeds in each round in the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2009. There are 14 top-four seeds in the Sweet 16. There's even one fan among all online games who entered a perfect bracket through the first 48 games, an unheard of run.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Tennessee avoided one of the biggest meltdowns in NCAA Tournament history, letting a 25-point lead slip away before two-time SEC player of the year Grant Williams scored six points in overtime for an 83-77 victory over Iowa. The Volunteers made it back to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2016, though there were more tense moments than the Vols imagined after they ran off to a huge lead in the opening half.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Avery Johnson is out as Alabama's basketball coach after making the NCAA Tournament only once in four seasons. Athletic director Greg Byrne says the Crimson Tide and Johnson "made the decision to mutually part ways." Associate head coach John Pelphrey will serve as interim head coach.

NEW YORK (AP) — Eight invitations to the Sweet 16 have been delivered and the other eight will be decided Monday night. UConn's back in the regional semifinals for the 26th consecutive year, and the Pac-12 has yet to lose in the postseason, improving to 8-0 after wins by Arizona State and Oregon.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Chennedy Carter scored 30 points, Shambria Washington hit the go-ahead 3-pointer late and No. 4 Texas A&M got a 78-76 win over fifth-seed Marquette in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. Texas A&M (26-7) moves on to the Sweet 16 for the second straight year where it will meet the winner Monday night's Michigan State-Notre Dame game in Chicago on March 30.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Megan Gustafson scored 24 points with 19 rebounds, Makenzie Meyer had 18 points and second-seeded Iowa blew past Missouri 68-52 to advance to its second Sweet 16 in five years. Kathleen Doyle scored 15 points for the Hawkeyes (28-6), who put away the Tigers with a blistering 23-4 run in the second half.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Teaira McCowan had 30 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks, Anriel Howard added 21 points and No. 1 seed Mississippi State rolled to an 85-61 win over ninth-seeded Clemson on Sunday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Mississippi State has won 10 straight games in a streak that's lasted more than a month. Clemson's surprising season ends with 20 wins.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Mikiah Herbert Harrigan scored 20 points, Alexis Jennings added 16 and fourth-seeded South Carolina beat No. 5 seed Florida State 72-64 to advance to the women's NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the sixth straight season. Te'a Cooper added 13 points and Tyasha Harris had 11 for South Carolina, which won despite being outrebounded 50-33 and allowing Florida State to grab 27 offensive rebounds.
