BOSTON (AP) — Boston College has extended the contract of football coach Steve Addazio through 2022. Athletic Director Martin Jarmond says he wishes there were more victories but he believes the program took steps in the right direction. Addazio led the Eagles to a 7-2 record and a No. 17 ranking in The Associated Press Top 25 before losses in their last three regular-season games. They are scheduled to play Boise State in the First Responder Bowl in Dallas on Dec. 26.

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — An autopsy report states that former Clemson running back C.J. Fuller died when a blood clot blocked an artery in his lung. Fuller died suddenly on Oct. 3. He played three years with the Tigers and was part of the 2016 national championship squad. Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley said in a report released Tuesday that Fuller died from a Pulmonary thromboembolism and deep vein thrombosis. His death came two weeks after he had operation to repair a leg injury.

UNDATED (AP) — Just more than a month after the season started, there are only nine unbeaten teams left in Division I men's college basketball. And it's a similar story at the other end of the spectrum: Only five teams have yet to win a game.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina has hired Phil Longo, Lonnie Galloway and Brandon Jones for the staff of new football coach Mack Brown. Longo will serve as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach after two seasons at Ole Miss. Galloway will coach receivers after four seasons at Louisville. Jones will coach the offensive line after two seasons at Texas Tech.

UNDATED (AP) — No. 1 Kansas to face No. 17 Villanova in rematch of 2018 Final Four semifinals. The Jayhawks moved back to No. 1 in the AP Top 25 this week following Gonzaga's loss to Tennessee. The Wildcats have six straight games since falling out of the poll

UNDATED (AP) — Kickoff returns are down about 20 percent in the first year of a new NCAA rule that gives the receiving team automatic possession at its 25-yard line if a fair catch is made anywhere between the goal line and 25. NCAA figures provided to the AP show kick return men in the Football Bowl Subdivision made a fair catch on about 1 of every 10 kickoffs they received between the goal line and 25. About 41 percent of kicks were returned this season. That figure was 51 percent in 2017.
