RENO, Nev. (AP) — Nevada defensive end Korey Rush has been named the Mountain West Conference defensive player of the week.
The senior from Salt Lake City had five tackles in the Wolf Pack's 40-22 victory at Hawaii Saturday night, including four tackles for loss and three sacks.
His tackles for loss and sacks are both career highs. The sacks are tied for the most by a Mountain West defender this season and the fourth-most in Nevada history.
Rush is one of 26 players in the FBS with at least three sacks in a single game this year.
The Wolf Pack defense only allowed one fourth-down conversion on five attempts against Hawaii.
