MURRAY, Utah (AP) — The Utah Highway Patrol says a Kaysville police officer was injured Tuesday morning while on a ride-along with a trooper on a freeway in the Salt Lake City area.
The Highway Patrol says the Kaysville officer suffered a leg injury that isn't life-threatening and reportedly is "doing well ... and able to walk around."
According to the Highway Patrol, the officer was injured when hit by a passing vehicle while observing an investigation of a wrong-way vehicle crash on Interstate 15.
The Murray Police Department is investigating the incident.
