HEBER CITY, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a threat of violence was made at a Utah high school for the second time in a week.
Heber City Police Sgt. Brandon Shopay says a Wasatch High School student was arrested Wednesday after someone alerted police of a social media threat.
The report comes a week after Shopay's agency says a Wasatch High School student alerted authorities that a classmate made a similar threat, also on social media. Police say they took that student into custody without incident.
An email to parents in Wasatch County School District Wednesday night says officers reported the student "didn't understand the consequences of this type of post."
The alleged threats follow the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where 17 people died.
