RICHFIELD, Utah (AP) — Authorities in Utah's Sevier County say an 85-year-old man has died in a house fire near Richfield.

County Sheriff's officials say the man's 61-year-old wife was being treated at a hospital.

They say Owen Kay Reynolds was unable to escape the blaze.

The fire was reported just after 4 a.m. Saturday.

Arriving firefighters battled flames before they could get to the bedroom and get Reynolds out of the home.

He was taken to Sevier Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe the fire started in a bedroom where Reynolds had been sleeping.

The cause of the fire isn't immediately known, but authorities say foul play isn't suspected.
