MIAMI (AP) — Authorities say two Florida police officers have been wounded in what they describe as "an ambush-style" shooting.
In a news release, Miami-Dade Police said the plainclothes officers were shot Monday night while investigating gang activity on the city's north side. The officers are part of the Homicide Task Force-Gang Unit.
Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez says fellow officers used a pickup truck to bring Det. Terrance White and Det. Charles Woods to the hospital.
The news release said White was listed in stable condition, while Woods was treated and released.
Authorities say at least one of the officers returned fire.
No suspects were arrested.
