SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The Latest on the fatal shooting of a Kentucky man who had broken into a church (all times local):
4 p.m.
Kentucky State Police say a man who broke into a small-town Kentucky church was holding a crowbar and moving toward a sheriff's deputy when the officer fatally shot him.
State police spokesman Bernis Napier says the man was ordered multiple times to drop the crowbar but did not comply before being shot.
Police identified the man as 22-year-old Dylan M. Dalzell of Shelbyville. Dalzell was white.
Authorities have not identified the deputy who opened fire, but say the lawman was placed on paid administrative leave.
Napier says three others were arrested as alleged accomplices serving as lookouts during the break-in at Simpsonville Baptist Church early Friday. Two are charged with burglary and receiving stolen property under $500. The third is charged with burglary.

Authorities say a Kentucky sheriff's deputy shot and killed a person who had broken into a church.
News media outlets quote state police trooper Bernis Napier as saying that Shelby County deputies found the unidentified male suspect inside the Simpsonville Baptist Church early Friday morning with a weapon. The type of weapon was unclear.
Authorities say deputies repeatedly asked the suspect to drop the weapon, and when he didn't, one of the deputies fired, killing him.
Police say there was a break-in at the church Thursday, so people were there when the second break-in attempt happened and called 911. It isn't clear whether the same suspect was responsible for both break-ins.
