SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A cab driver may have experienced a medical emergency when his taxi jumped a curb and plowed into two people on a downtown San Francisco sidewalk.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/2biO3Eh ) police are still investigating what led the crash, but they believe the driver may have had a medical emergency before the taxi veered into the busy street corner.

The vehicle hit an advertising kiosk and slammed into two people at a shoeshine stand Tuesday afternoon.

A spokesman for San Francisco General Hospital says the victims remained hospitalized Wednesday, one in critical condition. The driver, who was also injured in the collision, has been released.
