NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Police Department says a man accused of stuffing a bag of feces down a woman's pants is in custody.

Charges against the 42-year-old suspect are pending. Police say they found him at a homeless shelter in Brooklyn on Friday morning.

Police say he's also wanted for a similar attack on another woman.

Police say the disturbing incidents occurred hours apart on Monday.

In the first incident, the suspect smeared a 33-year-old woman's face and clothes with excrement on East 91st Street.

Hours later, police say he approached a 27-year-old woman from behind on 74th Street. Police say he grabbed her waist and shoved a bag of feces in her pants. They say he touched her buttocks and tossed a pair of gloves before fleeing.

Both incidents were caught on surveillance video.
