RENO, Nev. (AP) — An inmate who walked away from a work crew in Reno has been located.

The Nevada Department of Corrections says 20-year-old Zachary Tankersley was taken back into custody Friday.

Tankersley is being transported to Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.

Nevada DOC spokeswoman Brooke Keast says Tankersley was working with the Nevada Department of Forestry near Interstate 580 and South Meadows Parkway on Tuesday morning when he fled.

The department and the U.S. Marshal's Office joined efforts and captured him after a brief standoff at a motel.

Tankersley is a minimum-security inmate.

He has been serving 12 to 36 months for burglary since March 1.
