LONDON (AP) — Arsenal received the most Premier League prize money last season despite finishing behind champion Leicester.

Second-place Arsenal received 101 million pounds ($148 million) because more of its games were broadcast live in Britain.

Leicester, which earned 93 million pounds, was only shown regularly on domestic TV in the second half of the season when its improbable title challenge appeared more realistic.

Tottenham (95 million pounds), Manchester City (97 million pounds), Manchester United (96 million pounds) had bigger pay-days than Leicester despite finishing from third to sixth.

Half of the British TV revenue is split equally between the 20 clubs. A quarter of it is distributed depending on a team's finishing place and the remaining quarter based on the domestic TV appearances.

Commercial and international broadcast revenue is split equally.
