DUBLIN, Ohio (AP) — Collin Morikawa takes a three-shot lead into the third round of the Workday Charity Open in Ohio. His 13-under 131 is one stroke away from the 36-hole record at Muirfield Village that Jason Dufner set three years ago at the Memorial. The second round wasn’t completed until this morning because of storm delays. Brooks Koepka (KEHP’-kuh) and Justin Rose are among the players who missed the cut. Koepka closed with five birdies in seven holes last evening, but his 74-69 was one shot short. The cut was a 142, the highest score to make the cut in the five weeks since the PGA Tour restarted its season from the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s the second time this week the Astros have canceled a workout because of concerns about the pandemic. Houston also scrapped its Monday workout because of delays with testing results due to the holiday weekend, as did some other teams around the majors. General manager James Click said they decided to cancel Saturday’s workout as a precaution.

The team says after Bidwill tested positive after developing symptoms and went to the hospital on the recommendation of his doctor. His condition has improved and he’s expected to be released this weekend. The team believes the 55-year-old Bidwill caught the virus while traveling and spending time on the East Coast for several weeks. He’s been working remotely since March and the team says he hasn’t had in-person contact coaches or players.

ZURICH (AP) — Swiss top-tier soccer club Zurich is reporting more cases of COVID-19 among its players and staff, a day after announcing that one player had tested positive. Zurich didn’t specify how many new cases there are but said those affected are in home quarantine. Zurich postponed its Swiss Super League games today and Tuesday because of the 10-day quarantine. Zurich has seven league games left and it’s unclear how that schedule can be met ahead of UEFA’s Aug. 2 deadline to complete domestic seasons.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) — One of Michigan’s most beloved sports and entertainment venues has been turned into rubble with a series of controlled explosions. The shell and roof of the Palace of Auburn Hills crumbled to the ground Saturday after a series of explosive pops. The rest of the arena was removed previously. The Palace opened in 1988 and was home to three championship Detroit Pistons teams and three Detroit Shock teams during its nearly 30-year run. It also played host to some of the world’s biggest musical acts, the last of which was rocker Bob Seger in 2017. That was the year the Pistons relocated to a new arena in downtown Detroit. A new mixed-use development project is planned for the site.
