Panthers hire Richard Rodgers as secondary coach

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Panthers have hired Richard Rodgers as the secondary coach and Jeff Imamura will be the assistant secondary/cornerbacks coach.

Carolina also hired Vincent Rivera as defensive quality control coach Tuesday.

Mark Carrier, who has served as the team's director of player engagement since 2011, has been hired as the senior adviser to the general manager.

Carolina also announced Jeff Morrow has been selected as senior director of college scouting, while Eric Stokes and Mike Szabo have been hired as regional directors of college scouting. Mike Martin has been hired as the new southwest area scout.

On the football operations side, Rob Hanrahan has been selected assistant director of pro personnel and Austin Bergstrom, who previously held roles in equipment and football operations, has been hired as the college scouting coordinator.
