SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah Highway Patrol officials say a man is dead after getting out of his car in Interstate 15 in South Salt Lake and getting struck by multiple vehicles.
They say the man was driving on the freeway around 1:30 a.m. Saturday when his vehicle veered into a concrete barrier on the right shoulder, then swerved left and hit a barrier on the other shoulder.
Authorities say the man then got out of the vehicle and tried to run across all the lanes of the freeway but was hit by multiple vehicles and died at the scene.
The name and age of the man haven't been released yet.
