Outlook

Scattered storms will begin to wind down with sunset and we'll see a little lull overnight as we wait for the arrival of our next storm system. Widespread showers and storms are likely to ramp back up Friday morning and continue through the afternoon, before they become more scattered through the evening. Precipitation will linger into roughly the first half of Saturday, then we'll dry out for the remainder of the weekend with the exception of a few isolated pop-up showers in northern Utah. Valley rain totals in northern Utah will be up to an inch with a few spots seeing up to 1.25". The further south you go along I-15, rainfall amounts fall less and less. Snowfall in the mountains will be maximized in the Cottonwoods and the Uintas where they could pick up 8-16". Higher elevation central and southern mountains may see 6-12" inches. Temperatures drop below average through Sunday, then a warm up begins as we head into next week. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 4.25.24
