Young Cubs fan gets emotional after being surprised with tickets

Who doesn’t love surprises? For one Chicago Cubs fan, a hard day’s work on the farm ended with a tearful surprise.

Nine-year-old Kolt Kyler works on his parents’ farm in Indiana. To reward his hard work, his parents wanted to present Kolt with tickets to a Cubs game in June at Wrigley Field against the St. Louis Cardinals, according to NBC Chicago. Kolt’s mother decided to record the moment that his father, Andy, gave his son a great surprise. Kolt’s sister, Hannah, posted the recording on social media.

It will be Kolt’s first time attending a game at Wrigley Field.

It’s moments like this that we love to see: the emotion of sports fans — young and old — on display and reminding us that sports can mean so much.

Astros mascot pulls the old 'Sign on the back' prank on Mike Trout

All team mascots can be troublemakers and pranksters, to say the least. Orbit, the mascot for the Houston Astros, is a prankster, and on Tuesday evening, he pulled a fast one on arguably baseball’s best player.

During warmups prior to the Astros’ game against the Los Angeles Angels, Orbit went over and gave Mike Trout a hug. What Trouty didn’t know was that Orbit stuck a sign on his back saying “I love the Astros.”

Some of the Astros fans laughed, as Trout initially didn’t notice the sign. Eventually, a team staffer helped take off the sign off Trout’s back.

Orbit gave Trout a trolling wave at the end.

Nicely done, Orbit.
