This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

It all started when John and Margaret Shuff decided to visit some friends in Park City. They came during the Autumn Aloft hot air balloon festival, held during the 80s and early 90s in Park City. They enjoyed themselves so much that, no kidding, only a day and half later they bought a house. That was in September 1988 and by December they had moved in.

This engaging Florida couple was in the publishing business with the well-known Florida magazine, Boca Raton at the time they moved. Before that, John had spent years as the CFO of Capital Cities ABC in New York City.

Anyway, after they landed at the Salt Lake airport, John noticed that we didn't have a magazine depicting Salt Lake like he thought we should for this market. Today, the inspiration of John's observation is clearly shown in the 240,000 readership for Salt Lake Magazine, Utah Style and Design and Utah Bride, all going strong.

This is a hard-working power couple. They told me the story about their 10-year-old son who said, "Don't bother leaving the business to me. . .you guys work too hard."

Over the 21 years of publishing these distinct magazines, they have graced their covers with some of the most powerful and interesting Utahns like Robert Redford, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr. and many others. The intent of these beautiful magazines is to help readers navigate the Utah experience.

You can check out the latest issues on their website, saltlakemagazine.com. Growth has been steady ever since John and Margaret introduced their publication.

In publishing some of the most interesting magazines in Utah, John and Margaret decided to get into the Salt Lake Visitor's Guide that publishes in the winter and summer months. The guide discusses the best places to dine and hike as well as historical sites visitors might like to see. I think a lot of us who live here might also enjoy the guide produced to support the Convention and Visitor's Bureau's $6.2 billion tourism industry.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
