LOGAN — The Utah State Aggies have continued to impress not only Aggie nation, but the country at large as well. So much so that the Aggies (8-2) received four votes in the AP Top 25 Poll last week.

Utah State will be heading to Ruston, La., this weekend to take on the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech (9-1), who are currently ranked No. 19 on that same AP Top 25 Poll. The Aggies and Bulldogs are both 4-0 in conference and will be playing for at least a share in the WAC Championship. The Aggies can win the title outright by dropping the Bulldogs this week, defeating a ranked team on the road for the first time in school history.

ESPN has an excellent write-up on the upcoming battle between the two squads and the implications this game will hold for either sideline. This is without question one of the biggest games in Utah State football history.

The Aggies and the Bulldogs seem to have a perfect match-up — the Louisiana Tech has a very potent offense while the Aggies have a dominating defense. The Deseret News thinks Aggie head coach Gary Andersen may have one of the best defenses in the nation.

As a final wrap up, both the Kansas City Star and The Washington Post wrote the feelings of both the Aggies and the Bulldogs players and coaches.

This is a tough one to predict, but if pressed to call the outcome, look for the Aggies defense to hold out the Bulldogs offense just long enough for Utah State to drop a ranked team on the road for the first time in school history. The Aggies should be able to drop the Bulldogs out of the rankings and maybe, just maybe, climb in the rankings themselves.
