SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Jazz selected Tennessee forward Jarnell Stokes with the 35th pick in the NBA draft on Thursday night, then dealt him to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Memphis sends the Jazz a second-round pick in the 2016 draft in exchange for Stokes, a 6-foot-8, 260-pound post player who averaged 15.1 points and 10.6 rebounds as a junior last season and collected nearly four offensive rebounds a game.

He also set a Tennessee school record with 392 rebounds and was named to the All-SEC First Team. He had 22 double-doubles.

A member of the gold medal-winning U19 USA Men's Junior National Team, Stokes participated in the NBA combine but then missed a lot of pre-draft visits due to a car accident that gave him a concession. One of his few workouts was in Utah.
