BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) — Bloomington, Illinois police say three people are dead and a fourth was wounded in a shooting at an apartment building in the city.

Bloomington police say the victims were three adult men, who were pronounced dead by McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis. A 4-year-old boy who suffered a gunshot wound was airlifted to a hospital in Peoria, where he was reported in critical condition.

Bloomington police spokesman Elias Mendiola says officers arrived at a chaotic scene at the apartment building on Riley Drive on Monday afternoon. He didn't say where in the building the victims were found.

Mendiola withheld the identity of the three dead men, pending notification of relatives. He said no motive for the shooting has been determined and no arrests have been made.

The latest incident brings to eight the number of homicides in Bloomington this year.
