RENO, Nev. (AP) — University of Nevada, Reno officials say dorms are over capacity as the school expects to have another record year for enrollment.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (http://on.rgj.com/2bgDP2h ) that more than 1,000 students have already moved in to one of the campus residence halls. Another 2,000 are expected to move in later this week, in time for the fall semester to begin Monday.

Officials say the university's seven residence halls are at 121 percent capacity, with some rooms housing three students, although they've been designed to fit only two students.

UNR plans to open a new dorm in the summer of 2018.

The university expects enrollment this year to reach nearly 22,000 students. Last year, the school had its highest enrollment on record with nearly 21,000, students.
