CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — One of the two suspects arrested in the home invasion robbery of a 101-year-old World War II veteran has pleaded gulity to a felony robbery charge.
Jordan Burkhart entered the plea Tuesday in district court in Carson City to robbery against a person over 60. The 24-year-old Wellington man faces up to 35 years in prison at his August sentencing.
The other suspect, 27-year-old Robert Hernandez of Carson City, tried to plead guilty plea to the same charge but KRNV-TV reports (http://tinyurl.com/lc767g5) his plea wasn't accepted. He will appear at another hearing next week.
Authorities say the two forced their way into James Sorrentino's Carson City home looking for a safe in May, but Sorrentino didn't have one. After ransacking the home, they fled with a wristwatch, pocketknife and wallet containing $30.
