SALT LAKE CITY — It's that time of the year where football makes its appearance after a winter slumber. Although football is not in full effect, spring football still gives a glimmer of hope that football will be back soon.

At the annual spring football game Saturday for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 7-year-old Jack Hoffman got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play alongside the team. Jack was diagnosed with brain cancer in April 2011, and has since endured two surgeries and a 60-week course of chemotherapy.

Saturday's spring game came between chemo treatments for Jack. The Cornhuskers' football program invited Jack to join the team in the game, playing one down that he'll likely remember for the rest of his life. On 4th down and short, Jack enters the game where the crowd of approximately 60,000 fans cheered him on.

Waiting for the snap, Jack anxiously stands side-by-side with the team. Taking a handoff from the quarterback, Jack runs for a 69-yard touchdown (with the help of some blockers). In the end zone, Jack is joined by the entire team who raise him up, all while the crowd cheers him on.

There are few things in life that can rival the good done in this instance by the Cornhuskers' football team.

One-handed HR catch

Juggling children can be a very difficult task at times; however, for one dad, the task looked effortless.

One father stole the spotlight during the Washington Nationals-Cincinnati Reds game. In the top of the 7th inning, Nationals' Jayson Werth hit a home run where a father holding his son in one arm snagged a one-handed grab — barehanded, I might add. He makes it look so easy, all while holding his son.

Who knows what he's like at home, but he's got to win some sort of father-of-the-year award. I wouldn't recommend trying to replicate this, though. It doesn't end well for some people.
