Celebrate summer Aloha style with all the wonderful flavors of the islands. Tami Vincent from Kneaders shows us how to make a great Hawaiian style pasta salad recipe.
BIG ISLAND PASTA SALAD
INGREDIENTS
• One Package (approximately 27 oz.) Colored Pasta
• 3/4 cup of your favorite vinaigrette dressing
• 2 avocados
• 2 cups, pineapple tidbits (or fresh)
• 1/2 cup red onion, chopped
• Serves around 16 portions.
INSTRUCTIONS
• Cook pasta according to instructions for al dente firmness (usually around 8-10 minutes).
• While pasta is boiling place vinaigrette in a separate bowl with chopped avocado, pineapple and onion. Soak until pasta is done. This will help bring more flavor to ingredients and keep avocado from turning brown.
• Combine with cooked and drained pasta.
• Cool to around 42 degrees. Stir before serving.
• Also try substituting oranges or mangos for the pineapple for other tropical creations
