BRAZZAVILLE, Republic of Congo (AP) - A transportation official confirmed that four people were killed when two trains collided near Kinkembo, located 150 kilometers (90 miles) south of Brazzaville, the capital of Republic of Congo.
Anatole Zobani Kimbouala, the press attache for the Republic of Congo's Minister of Transport, said the accident occurred at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday. A delegation from the ministry of transport left the capital in the early hours to try to reach the site of the collision to begin an investigation.
State radio said at least 25 people were also gravely wounded. They were transported to a hospital in Brazzaville.
