MONCHENGLADBACH, Germany — Mainz has kept up its push for a place in next year's Champions League with a 3-1 win at Borussia Mönchengladbach. The result on Friday lifts it into third place in the Bundesliga. Paul Nebel and Dominik Kohr scored for Mainz either side of halftime. Although Stefan Lainer gave the home side some hope with a goal after 73 minutes, Nadiem Amiri restored Mainz's two-goal advantage four minutes later. Mönchengladbach remains in eighth place.
