NEW ORLEANS — Tiztasitic galloped past three horses down the stretch to win the $1 million Louisiana Derby by two lengths. The victory earned the Steve Asmussen-trained horse enough Kentucky Derby qualifying points to enter the opening race of the Triple Crown. Chunk of Gold finished second for trainer Ethan West, and the Brad Cox-trained Instant Replay came home third. Cox also trained 2-1 favorite John Hancock. He opened with the lead and held it until the final turn before fading to fourth. Tiztastic went off with 9-1 odds and finished the 1 3/16-mile race distance in 1:56.20. The Grade II victory also earned him 100 Kentucky Derby qualifying points.
