VIENNA, Austria — Soccer players are amazing athletes. Their endurance, precision passes and their power are jaw dropping. But every once in a while that power seems to take over and leave precision in the dust.
On Sunday Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian Bundesliga took on Rapid Vienna and Red Bull's Jonathan Soriano had a chance to cut Vienna's lead to one with a penalty kick. Soriano lined up, gave the ball a good kick and managed to launch it into the cheap seats. Seriously, the ball nearly hit orbit.
This wasn't a kick that just sailed over the crossbar; it nearly sailed out of the stadium. The goalie laid out for the ball that was roughly 40 feet above him and when he got up he didn't seem to celebrate too much. Maybe it's because his guess on where Soriano was going was as bad as Soriano's kick.

So soccer players may be incredible athletes, but just like players from any other sport, they have their off days.
The University of Oregon football team is known for out of the box uniforms. Sometimes they're impressive, sleek and eye popping. Other times, they're just an eye sore.
A photo has been floating around the web claiming to be Oregon's newest uniform, and let's just say I don't know if I'm relived or disappointed that it's a hoax.
The "new" unis are, well, they're Donald Duck. The uniforms still have Oregon's green and silver colors, but they've been fashioned to look like Donald's timeless sailor suit and the best part has got to be the duck feet. They look pretty spot on. Not to mention Donald's grill is on the helmet.
Like I said, I know these are fake, but there would be a small tinge of respect for the Ducks if they had the courage to poke a little fun at themselves.
Monday Night Football is Upon Us
The first preseason Monday Night Football game of 2012 was Monday as the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys thoroughly bored us to a 3-0 finish. But one thing we got out of it was the new ESPN promo for Monday Night Football.
No need for me to give you all the details, but seeing Arian Foster's lazy bedtime story and Darrelle Revis posing for an epic portrait is well worth your time.
Wild Thing is Back
The last time we saw Charlie Sheen throwing heat was nearly two decades ago as Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn in "Major League II."
Well, Sheen threw out the opening pitch in Toronto Tuesday night when the Blue Jays took on the Chicago White Sox, and like I said, the last time we saw The Wild Thing was nearly two decades ago.
Sheen winds up like the Vaughn we know and love and then lets the ball fly. I think the catcher herniated a disc trying to reach for that ball.
Granted, Sheen is now in his mid-forties and probably hasn't tossed a ball around in awhile, so we'll cut him some slack.
Sheen also took some pre-game batting practice and truth be told, he didn't look too shabby. So, we've added this video to give you some "Major League" nostalgia.
