BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres honored former star goalie Ryan Miller by retiring his number during a ceremony before the team's game against the New York Islanders. Among those paying tribute was Miller's childhood idol and former Sabres goalie Dominik Hasek. Miller broke several of Hasek's team records during 10-plus seasons in Buffalo, which began in 2002. The player from East Lansing, Michigan, also leads all U.S.-born goalies with 391 victories. Miller ended his 18-season career two years ago following a four-year stint with the Anaheim Ducks.
