INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis will have Josh Freeman as its starting quarterback Sunday against Tennessee.

It will be Freeman's first NFL start — and first NFL game — since Oct. 21, 2013. The 2009 first-round draft pick started 59 games for Tampa Bay and one with Minnesota, but he has not played in the league for more than two years.

He beat out former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Ryan Lindley. Both were signed Tuesday after a rash of injuries to Indy's quarterbacks.

Andrew Luck is inactive for the ninth straight game because of a lacerated kidney and partially torn abdominal muscle, backup Matt Hasselbeck is inactive with an injured throwing shoulder and third-stringer Charlie Whitehurst was put on injured reserve Monday with a hamstring injury.
