LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears are bringing back linebacker Lamarr Houston, claiming him off waivers from the Houston Texans.

The 30-year-old Houston played in five games for the Texans after being released by Chicago on Sept. 6.

Injuries to both knees limited him to 26 games with the Bears from 2014-16. His first season in Chicago ended when he tore his right anterior cruciate ligament celebrating a meaningless sack in a blowout loss at New England. The Patriots' quarterback on that play was Jimmy Garoppolo, who will make his first start for San Francisco when the Bears host the 49ers on Sunday.

Bears inside linebacker Danny Trevathan (strained calf) practiced Wednesday on a limited basis. He has been sidelined since Oct. 29.
