MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin forward Nigel Hayes is submitting his name for the NBA draft but will not sign with an agent.
The Badgers' leading scorer confirmed his decision on Wednesday through a team spokesman.
New rules allow players to enter their names in the draft by April 24, and withdraw by May 25 and return to school as long as they have not signed with an agent. The draft will be held on June 25.
The 6-foot-9 Hayes averaged 15.7 points and 5.9 rebounds a game in his junior season. He was a key contributor in Wisconsin's runs to the Final Four in his first two seasons.
Hayes ended his junior year on a shooting slump in the NCAA Tournament.
