LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (AP) — Uptown Twirl won the $75,000 Surfside Stakes by 1¼ lengths Sunday at Los Alamitos in her first start in 10 weeks.
Ridden by Tyler Baze, Uptown Twirl ran six furlongs in 1:09.36 and paid $11.20, $4.40 and $2.60.
Moment is Right returned $3.40 and $2.60 as the 5-2 second choice in her first start in California. My Dynamo was an additional 3¼ lengths back in third and paid $3 to show at 5-1 odds.
Surfside Tiara, the 9-5 favorite, was last in the field of five.
Uptown Twirl earned her third win in seven starts for trainer John Sadler and increased her career earnings to $134,714.
