MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have placed infielder Eduardo Nunez on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique.

The Twins announced the move Tuesday night after a 2-1 loss to the Oakland Athletics. The move is retroactive to April 30.

Nunez hit .409 with four doubles in eight games for the Twins before getting hurt.

The Twins selected the contract of infielder Doug Bernier from Triple-A Rochester to take Nunez's place on the roster. Bernier hit .239 with one home run and six RBIs in 20 games for the Red Wings.
