AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Point guard Isaiah Taylor has decided to skip his senior season at Texas and enter the NBA draft.

The 6-foot-3 Taylor averaged 15 points, five assists and 2.8 rebounds as he started 33 games last season for the Longhorns, who went 20-13 in their first season under coach Shaka Smart. Texas was a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament, but lost 75-72 in the first round on a halfcourt shot at the buzzer by Northern Iowa.

Taylor says he has decided to hire an agent, meaning he cannot return for his final season of eligibility. Smart says he was grateful for Taylor's contributions and supports his move "wholeheartedly."
