SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Kawhi (kuh-WY') Leonard had 29 points and LaMarcus Aldridge had 26 points and 10 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs won their 31st straight at home to open the season by upending the Chicago Bulls 109-101. Tony Parker added 20 points and had 12 assists for San Antonio, which has won 40 straight at home going back to last season.

WASHINGTON (AP)— Defending Atlantic Coast Conference tournament winner Notre Dame has done it again to Duke. For the fifth time in their last six meetings, the unranked Irish knocked off 19th-ranked Duke by rallying from 16 down in the second half to beat the Blue Devils 84-79 in overtime. Next up for the Irish is seventh-ranked North Carolina this evening.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Eddie Jordan is out after three seasons as Rutgers' basketball coach following a 7-25 season that included a 17-game losing streak. The 61-year-old Jordan, who was hired in the wake of the scandal that led to the firing of coach Mike Rice and athletic director Tim Pernetti, posted a 29-68 record in three seasons, including a 3-35 conference mark during two years in the Big Ten.

SEATTLE (AP)_The Seattle Seahawks continue to focus on retaining their own free agents by agreeing to a three-year deal with wide receiver Jermaine Kearse. Last season, Kearse had 49 receptions for 685 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season. He had another 14 catches and two TDs in the postseason.

PALM HARBOR, Fla. (AP) — Charles Howell III, Keegan Bradley and Ken Duke start second round play at the Valspar Championship tied for the top spot after shooting 4-under 67s yesterday. Defending Masters and Valspar champion Jordan Spieth (SPEETH) continued his erratic early season play with a 5-over 76.
