CHICAGO (AP) — Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco and shortstop Zack Cozart are out of the lineup for Cincinnati's game against the Chicago Cubs.

Mesoraco has tightness in his right hip and Cozart is out with stiffness in his quadriceps. Manager Bryan Price says they got "a little banged up" in Monday's loss to the Cubs, but are available to hit if needed.

Ivan De Jesus got the start at shortstop, and Tucker Barnhart was behind the plate for Wednesday's game.

Mesoraco missed most of last season due to a left hip injury that required surgery. He is 2 for 19 in seven games this season.
