ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Texas Rangers left fielder Ryan Rua has a small fracture in his right heel, and right-handed reliever Lisalverto Bonilla is scheduled for season-ending elbow surgery.

Rua got his diagnosis during an exam Monday, three days after he came out of the team's home opener with what was called a sprained ankle. He will be in a protective walking boot for three weeks because of what the team now says is a small displaced fracture in his heel.

Bonilla will have Tommy John surgery Friday that will be performed by team physician Dr. Keith Meister.

After opening the season on the 15-day disabled list, the Rangers transferred Bonilla to the 60-day DL on Saturday.
