COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) — Marco Pappa scored in the 95th and final minute to give the Colorado Rapids a 1-0 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday night in their home opener.

Colorado's Kevin Doyle sent a high-arching chip pass into the area and Galaxy defender Daniel Steres attempted the clear it away. But Steres' header went errantly to the left side of the box and Pappa picked it clean with a left-footed volley that glanced under the crossbar.

The referee had awarded five minutes of stoppage time and the game ended immediately after the ensuing kickoff.

Pappa entered the game as a substitute for Dominique Badji in 67th minute. He was traded from the Seattle Sounders during the offseason and was making his home debut for the Rapids (1-1-0).

Goalkeeper Brian Rowe kept the Galaxy (1-1-0) in it with five of his seven saves in the second half.
