HOUSTON (AP) — Houston's Rockets are playing for their professional lives tonight as they entertain the Clippers. Los Angeles leads their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal playoff series 3-1. If the Rockets take tonight's game, they will visit LA for Game 6 with an eye on hosting a deciding seventh game Sunday.
CLEVELAND (AP) —The fifth game of the "last man standing" NBA playoff series between the Cavaliers and Bulls is tonight in Cleveland. The Eastern Conference semifinal is tied 2-2 and no matter the result of this evening's game, the sixth game will be played in Chicago in two nights. Pau Gasol (pow gah-SOHL') of the Bulls is listed as questionable and Cleveland's Kyrie (KY'-ree) Irving will play despite an injured knee and foot.
METAIRIE, La. (AP) — The New Orleans Pelicans have fired their coach. Monty Williams has been dismissed after five years on the job. His record in the Crescent City was 173-221.
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Will the Lightning finish off the Canadiens tonight or will Montreal force a seventh game in their NHL playoff series? After winning the first three games of the series, the Lightning have lost the last two, setting the stage for tonight's sixth game in Tampa. A Montreal win would send the series back to the Canadiens' home ice Thursday night.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) —Kyle Busch is headed back behind the wheel. Busch has announced that he will drive in the All-Star race this weekend, his first competition since he was seriously injured in a crash at Daytona nearly three months ago. Busch broke his right leg and left foot in a Feb. 21 wreck in the season-opening Xfinity Series race.
