BOSTON (AP) — The Washington Nationals have placed right-hander Craig Stammen on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with right forearm stiffness.
To take his place on the roster, the club recalled 26-year old right-hander Taylor Jordan from Triple-A Syracuse.
The 31-year old Stammen appeared in five games — all in relief — without allowing a run in four innings.
Manager Matt Williams said Stammen told him "he was sore" when he checked in with his pitchers as he usually does.
Jordan made one start for Syracuse, allowing two hits in six scoreless innings. It's his first time in the majors this season.
